ProbeComprehensive Ultrasound Research Platform

Introduction

Ultrasound imaging is used in many medical applications to detect tumors and abnormalities in tissue.  A Piezoelectric Transducer converts a voltage signal into a pressure wave.  These pressure waves are then reflected by changes in density of tissues in the body.  The reflected pressure waves are then converted back into a voltage signal by the transducer. [1]

This project shall create an ultrasound platform to send experimental waveforms to the transducer and display the resulting image through digital signal processing.
