Comprehensive Ultrasound Research Platform
Introduction |
Ultrasound imaging is used in many medical applications to detect
tumors and abnormalities in tissue. A Piezoelectric Transducer
converts a voltage signal into a pressure wave. These pressure
waves are then reflected by changes in density of tissues in the
body. The reflected pressure waves are then converted back
into a voltage signal by the transducer. [1]
This project shall create an ultrasound platform to send experimental waveforms to the transducer and display the resulting image through digital signal processing. References 1. J. A. Zagzebski, Essentials of Ultrasound Physics, St. Louis, MO: Mosby, 1996. |
