VAHCS is a voice activated remote control that operates infra-red activated devices. This project consists of two subsystems. The voice activation subsystem uses a Sensory Voice Direct II kit. The IR sub-system uses the MircoPac Evaluation (EMAC) board. The EMAC board records the devices’ existing IR sequences. A menu-interface, run on the Emac board, allows the user to record command words through the Voice Direct II, and to associate multiple IR commands to each of them.  A recognized command word triggers the corresponding IR sequences to be recalled from memory and transmitted to the controlled devices.
