Week 3 - The return from break |

this week was less than expected because we have a sickness in the
team. Mike was out of commission this week for lab. In spite
of that Pete continued his work on identifying and understanding the
equipment on the tracker car.
Andy worked on the serial port interface. The night before lab he stayed up until two in the morning changing a program from his 410 course to make it into class and see how the code worked. After the class was written the interface for the communication protocol to the EMAC board. The image processing page for this is seen here. The serial port was then tested two different ways. One was with an oscilloscope on the third pin of the serial port. This is seen on the pictures page for week 3. In addition the serial port was also tested by acquiring a crossover cable and running the two serial ports on the back the computer into each other. Then through the use of hyper-terminal it was verified that the class could write and read. Then the work went back to the drawing board to finish the communications interface for the EMAC development board so it can be tested next week. |
