No Noose is Good Noose

5-10-2002 -- Finished the Senior Project.  Image Processing was a marginal success.  The image processing will work with certain conditions.  The background needs to have as little of any color close to the reference color as possible.  We had mixed results getting it to work inside and out.  The more vibrate the color is, the more likely the image processing will track it.  We had about a 50% success rate with it.

1-27-2002 -- Working on the TWAIN interface.  Work is progressing slowly.  Also discovered the the DVC325 camera from Kodak doesn't support TWAIN properly.

12-1-2001 -- Serial Interface has been written and the communications interface will be finished hopefully within a week.  Preliminary coding is being done on the TWAIN interface.

11-10-2001 -- In order to effectively complete our research on the bore-sight vs. prediction models of interception it was decided that a Java applet was needed to be written.  This will be used to simulate control algorithms for the controller and to simulate the time duration of the image processing.  The page for this under simulation tools.

10-13-2001 --  In order to get the coding possibly done we need to use TWAIN to capture the images.  SO today I am going to search for information on using TWAIN to capture images.  The TWAIN information is all coming from www.twain.org.  Results were encouraging.  The only thing I noticed was it was very slow to acquire images from my scanner.  But it did acquire the image which gives me hope.

10-8-2001 --  Initial research was into the ability of the project to be completed.  The initial research did not go as planned at all.  In searching the web nothing was found.  I believed that the web would host a web of image processing pages because I believed it was cutting edge and people would be researching it, not quite.  I found nothing.  A couple of graduate schools had sites saying they were doing research into image processing but none of it was on the web and none of it was even in the realm of what I was looking for.

10-9-2001 --  Finished preliminary Research.  Found nothing online.  A couple of books were found in the library see references under library to see these titles.  Investigating into different cameras and found Intel had the only one that was possible to use.  It uses a TWAIN/WSI connection so any software that runs that will be able to connect to it.  This is more than likely the best bet for success.
