Weekly Progress Report for 02-07-2002

   Vehicle Control Software:
	The code for the steering PWM is in progress.  It
	should be completed by the end of on 2/7.  The
	drive wheel PWM will be started next week.
   Camera Controller:
	The vhdl code is completed and ready to be
	implemented and tested on an FPGA.
   Serial Interface:
	This has not been started yet. Project 2 weeks to start.
   Vehicle Control Testing Software:
	This has not been started yet. Project 3 weeks to start.
   Testing of Vehicle Testing Program:
	This has not been started yet. Project 5 weeks to start.
   Testing of Vehicle w/ Image Processing:
	This has not been started yet. Project 6 weeks to start.

Weekly Progress Report for 02-14-2002

     Camera Controller:
	Uncovered a major flaw in my controller code.  I need
	to both synchronously and async. assign a value to the
	same signal.  I could not resolve the problem in 2 hours
	tonight.  I will need to get with either V.N. Prasad or
	Eddy Lee to discuss this matter.
     Serial Interface:
	This has not been started yet. Project 2 weeks to start.
     Vehicle Control Testing Software:
	This has not been started yet. Project 3 weeks to start.
     Testing of Vehicle Testing Program:
	This has not been started yet. Project 5 weeks to start.
     Testing of Vehicle w/ Image Processing:
	This has not been started yet. Project 6 weeks to start.

Weekly Progress Report for 02-21-2002

     Camera Controller:
	Fixed error in VHDL to provide desirable operation
	from the controller.  I am preparing to test the
	controller on an XC4010E chip.  I will also see about
	using an XC9500 chip for the project.
     Serial Interface:
	I am going to start this this weekend.  Should be
	completed by the end of next week.
     Vehicle Control Testing Software:
	This has not been started yet. Project 3 weeks to start.
     Testing of Vehicle Testing Program:
	This has not been started yet. Project 5 weeks to start.
     Testing of Vehicle w/ Image Processing:
	This has not been started yet. Project 6 weeks to start.

Most of my time this past week was devoted to fixing the
controller and working on the presentation.

     Camera Controller:
	I am preparing to test the controller on an XC4010E
	chip.  I will also see about using an XC9500 chip for
	the project.
     Serial Interface:
	I am going to start this today.  Should be completed
	by the end of next week.
     Vehicle Control Testing Software:
	This has not been started yet. Project 2 weeks to start.
     Testing of Vehicle Testing Program:
	This has not been started yet. Project 4 weeks to start.
     Testing of Vehicle w/ Image Processing:
	This has not been started yet. Project 5 weeks to start.

Most of my time this past week was devoted to finding a stepper
motor to suite our needs.  This morning, I am going to try to
contact some vendors as see if motors are available.

Weekly Progress Report for 03-06-2002

     Camera Controller:
	I am preparing to test the controller on an
	XC4010E chip.  I will also see about using
	an XC9500 chip for the project.  I have started
	to test the sub-systems of the controller.  I will
	continues with this today.
     Serial Interface:
	I have not started this yet.  I’m not sure if I
	will get to it before spring break.  It will
	definitely be done over break!
     Vehicle Control Testing Software:
	This has not been started yet.  Week after
	spring break.
     Testing of Vehicle Testing Program:
	This has not been started yet. Project 3 weeks to start.
Testing of Vehicle w/ Image Processing:
	This has not been started yet. Project 4 weeks to start.

I spent a lot of time on the phone with vendors last week.
Most of them weren’t very helpful.  I think I shouldn’t
have said I was a student.  I think just getting gears and
making a gearbox to put on the motors we have here is
the way to go.  Andy says he might need more resolution
than 1° anyway.

     Camera Controller:
	No real progress made.
     Serial Interface:
	This is practically done; just need to test it today in
	lab.
     Vehicle Control Testing Software:
	This has not been started yet. Project 1 week to start.
     Testing of Vehicle Testing Program:
	This has not been started yet. Project 1 week to start.
     Testing of Vehicle w/ Image Processing:
	This has not been started yet. Project 2 weeks to start.

Not much to add since it was, in fact, spring break last week.


After this it was just work work work work, in order to get it done.
