FINAL PAD LAYOUT OF 4-BIT SYSTEMS

Pictured is the final pad layout using the designed 4-bit systems. The YELLOW outline is the 4-bit x 4-bit multiplier, the RED outline is the 4-bit sequence generator, and the BLACK outline is the 8-bit register. It is obvious that this design is much too large for this size pad. The proposed solution is to base the entire design on 3 bits instead of 4 bits and redesign the D flip-flop. This would eliminate one row and one column of cells from the 4-bit x 4-bit multiplier, one D flip-flop from the 4-bit sequence generator, and two D flip-flops from the 8-bit register.

The new design will consist of a 3-bit x 3-bit multiplier, a 3-bit sequence generator, and a 6-bit register.
