Removal of Intersymbol Interference with Adaptive Equalization
When a digital signal is passed through a non-ideal channel, each different
rectangular pulse, or symbol, spreads in time. This causes the symbols
to interfere with one another in what is called intersymbol interference.
This project deals with the design of equalizers, or receiving filters
that compensate for this interference. The designs were implemented and
tested as MATLAB programs. In addition, the final design, an equalizer
which automatically adapts itself to the channel preceding it, was also
implemented as a C program on a TMS 320C25 Digital Signal Processing board.
