FM Demodulation Using Digital Signal Processing
by
Brendan D. Burgess & Troy Hoogerwerf
Advisor: Dr. T. L. Stewart

With technology moving rapidly ahead, things deemed possible only with analog circuits are now being designed using Digital Signal Processing. Our project replaces an analog method of FM demodulation and implements it using a digital algorithm for each analog stage. This program is written using an assembly language instruction set oriented toward signal processing applications. The design is based on a Matlab simulation in both the analog and digital domain. The results of our project show that a digital FM demodulator can replace the conventional analog circuitry by a computer program written and implemented on the TMS32010 Digital Signal Processor.
