Advisor: Dr. I. S. Ahn

With the advance of digital technology, the analog controller has been replaced by the digital controller in many applications. This project consists of designing and implementing and digital controller a DC motor. Project work included identifying DC motor dynamics and designing a digital PID controller. The controller was carefully programmed so that the DC motor operated within performance specifications set by the designer. Performance specifications include rise time, delay time and percent overshoot. The TMS 320C30 board was used to implement the digital PID controller algorithm.
