Real-time Estimation of Plant Parameters
by Mahmoud Basraoui & Greg Tillman Advisor: Dr. W. Anakwa The goal of our project is the real-time measurement of the parameters
associated with a plant. Knowledge of these parameters is needed to design
a controller that will give the desired response. The system will dynamically
measure the plant input and output signals and calculate the required parameters.
Transfer function coefficients of a first order system (gain and integral
time constant) are the parameters of primary interest. Various methods
of calculating the parameters will be discussed. By using an analog computer
to simulate the plant, the system will be evaluated with several types
of plants.
