Environmental Control System
by Randy Foster & Steve Nofsinger Advisor: Dr. W. N. Anakwa With the rising cost of energy, it is important to be able to efficiently
control the temperature and/or humidity in an enclosed environment. A method
of controlling these parameters will be presented. System modelling techniques
used in this project will also be discussed. The temperature controller
consists of a zero-crossing switch, heating element, and a pc. The pc will
provide an error signal to the zero-crossing switch that will maintain
the temperature in a house at a constant level. PID control and compensation
techniques will be discussed in connection with temperature. A procedure
for controlling the humidity will also be presented.
