All Digital AM Stereo Test Signal Generator for the Evaluation
of C-QUAM Stereo
by Rob Schaller Advisor: Dr. J. W. Sennott The concept of AM stereo was demonstrated over 50 years ago and just
recently it has been put into commercial use. A PC-based quadrature amplitude
modulation (C-QUAM) stereo test signal generator has been developed in
which a computer software package and D/A converters simulate a baseband
test signal and an atmospheric communication channel. The receiver is a
C-QUAM decoder IC that accepts an input signal at IF. There are two other
AM stereo systems in use and they may also be tested with this project
by modifying the software program and choosing the appropriate decoder.
