Video Editing System
by Yo-Whua Lou and Shariman Mansor The purpose of this project is to design, build and test an affordable
video editing system so that editing a video tape would become much easier
than before. The system uses a Macintosh PC as the CPU, along with Intel
Microcontrollers (8751), to control the VCRs which will do the editing
process. Composite video signals are fed through an analog circuitry which
will count the number of frames, thus numbering them. Given the correct
number of frames, the CPU will control the VCRs to "edit" the tapes. This
PC-based project utilizes some features of the PC and VCRs which open some
interesting alternatives in designing the system.
