Boiler System Simulation
by Ramesh Nair and Keith Dennis As the demand for process performance increases, improved control systems
offer a viable solution to meet these new demands. It's the intent of this
project to design a process simulation program for an IBM compatible personal
computer. This program will simulate plants controlled by various process
control algorithms. The case study used to develop the simulator was the
auxiliary steam boiler presently in service at Commonwealth Edison's Powerton
Generating Station. The simulation program emulates real time system response
and provides graphic display of process variables.
